Butterflies with Torn Wings Series: In various cultures historically, and in art history butterflies have represented the human soul. The underlying premise of the painting is that even though as humans we all carry pain, we all get damaged, we can still continue to show the greatest of strengths, and often in the face of the greatest adversity. In War Truth is the First Casualty Series: The paintings and studies in the series 'In War, Truth is the First Casualty' were inspired by a quote Twinkle heard on the radio by a Greek play write called Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC). Amazed that a saying such as 'In war, truth is the first casualty' wasn't a recently formulated expression , but is actually thousands of years old Twinkle set out to explore symbols of truth from Aeschylus' time which took her to the Greek God Apollo, the God of Truth for which the symbol was a crow.
